May God remember their faces as we remember their sacrifices this Sunday!

"Never forget." Those two words serve as both a remembrance and a call to action as America commemorates the 67th anniversary of the 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor this Sunday, December 7th.

Top Conservatives on Twitter

Top Conservatives on Twitter

10 Things You Can DoTo Build The Conservative Community on Twitter

1. Follow everyone on this list.

2. Make a point of tweeting conservatives on the list who you don't know, but you think might be interesting.

3. Use the "#TCOT" tag before tweets you think might be of interest to the entire community.

4. Tell your conservative friends who are not on Twitter to join now.

5. Do something nice for someone on the list.

6. If someone follows you, follow them back.

7. Try to keep your following to follower ratio greater than 0.85 to 1. The point of a community is to engage in a dialogue. You can't engage unless tweets flow two ways.

8. Follow the people who follow people on the list with whom you have much in common. Especially follow people on the list who are rapidly adding new followers, such as @pinkelephantpun and @nansen.

9. Volunteer to be a Project Servant-Leader or Team Member on a #TCOT Action Project

10. Propose and gain approval for a new #TCOT Action Project.

I have to keep this one and revisit later as this Twitter stuff can be overwhelming at times and these #TCOT guys seem to be getting the RNC connected to Twitter also. Wow looks like things are a moving.

Twiddle Dee or Twiddle Dumb?

Sorry I know alot of Va stuff is going on but I am trying to get this Twitter thing down so that when I blog it goes out to my Twitter channel. Is that too much to ask?

I looked at Twitter Wall but it seems to be a micro blogging tool (when a post is too short for your blog but longer than 140 characters) and will revisit that later. See link below.

Well, that led me to twitterfeed which can use RSS feeds to feed your twitter if I read this right.

The first obstacle was applying for on OpenID. Which the twitterfeed introduction lead me through this quite nicely. still not sure why I need this but I guess it just does ;-)

Now that I have a OpenID I had to supply a RSS Feed URL to setup my blogging site to feed my twitter channel. For the RSS Feed URL, I tried to simply entering my blog site URL only to find it was not acceptable for twitterfeed. After looking at Blogger Help page I noticed the following to setup RSS site feeds:

Ahhh...simply insert my blogsite name from above and see if this works.

OK...twitterfeed is happy with that entry so lets see if we can get something posted here and be delivered somewhere in my tweeter world.

Incoming House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (Va.) on Monday announced the selection of close ally and fellow GOP “Young Guns” member Rep. Kevin McCarthy (Calif.) as his chief deputy whip.

McCarthy, just elected to only his second term, is now set to become the highest appointed member of the Republican Conference for the 111th Congress.

“Being entrusted by my friend Republican Whip Eric Cantor to serve in the House Republican Leadership as Chief Deputy Republican Whip is an enormous honor,” McCarthy said in a joint statement he released with Cantor. “We will be part of the solution to turn the page toward a new era of Republican leadership. I am proud to begin this mission on the innovative path to a better future.”

Cantor and McCarthy both stressed the need to rebuild the Republican Party after its second consecutive devastating loss to Democrats, and vowed to serve as a “check and balance to the power of Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi [D-Calif.] and President-elect Obama.”

Cantor said that he is looking forward “to focusing on rebuilding our party and working towards innovative solutions to help the middle-class taxpayers of America.”
