Ada Lovelace Day 24 March 2009

Are #TCOT and #SGP members wondering what is Ada Lovelace Day #ALD09? Maybe not but simply put its a dedication to women and technology.
Find out more here:  http://www.pledgebank.com/AdaLovelaceDay

Find out more about Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace (10 December 1815 – 27  November 1852) here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ada_Lovelace

Shout out to: Crystal Clear Conservative: "She’s that small town girl, who is filled with lots of “Old Bay” (i.e. Spicy) pearls of wisdom." She has a great blog here:  http://www.crystalclearconservative.com/

Now to one of my favorite women of technology:

Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper (December 9, 1906 – January 1, 1992) was an American computer scientist and United States Naval officer. A pioneer in the field, she was one of the first programmers of the Harvard Mark I calculator, and she developed the first compiler for a computer programming language. Because of the breadth of her accomplishments and her naval rank, she is sometimes referred to as "Amazing Grace", as was the USS Hopper(DDG-70).

Rear Admiral Hopper receives congratulations from President Ronald Reagan, following her promotion from the rank of Captain to Commodore in ceremonies at the White House, 15 December 1983.

Today's Navy was graced by the work of Rear Admiral Grace Hopper and so many other women who today make it the most outstanding fleets to sail the seas today!

Amazing Grace! Thanks Ladies!
