One Year Later, Can You Hear Us Now?

February 27, 2009 Washington D.C. Tea Party in front of the White House in Washington DC.

Well, one year ago no one had heard of the Tea Party Movement. Look at us now!

A recent Franklin and Marshall College Pennsylvania poll released Wednesday 2/24/10 should make you very proud of your efforts. {PDF FILE HERE}

Buried in the poll was some polling information concerning Tea Party Politics. Of special note:
- More than half (62%) of registered Pennsylvanians have read, seen, or heard something about the tea party movement.
- More respondents support (39%) than oppose (29%) the tea party movement’s goals
- More would be likely (45%) than unlikely (34%) to vote for a candidate who supports the tea party movement’s goals

So what about Tea Party Movement product branding?:
- Supporters most commonly cite smaller government/fiscal responsibility (31%) and more representative government (14%) as the movement’s primary goals,
- Supporters also are more knowledgeable about the movement’s goals only nine percent say they don’t know compared to one quarter (24%) of opponents.

Amazing if you ask me. What corporation or consumer product would not want to be looking at those numbers? May we ALL be vigilant in protecting our brand.

*The data included in the release represent the responses of 1143 adult residents of Pennsylvania, including 954 registered adults (481 Democrats, 340 Republicans, and 111 registered as Independent/Other).
