The Restoring Honor Rally - The Wall

I have seen this story repeated countless times at the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC. These pictures were taken 28 August 2010 after attending The Restoring Honor Rally held at the Lincoln Memorial.

You are not forgotten...

They come...

A stark realization of sacrifice...

An Inquiry...

A story is revealed...

A moment of introspection...

The gentleman described a young friend who joined the Air Force and did not return. This appears to be a cold inquiry,  to which, to my surprise the young Airman's panel was quickly found by the attendant at the memorial. It was moving to hear this gentleman explain to the young lady the airman's story. The young lady sensing the gentleman's grief, surprisingly stepped away while he paid his respects to the young airman.

What ever their purpose of visiting 'The Wall', I hope they find what they seek. I hope they leave with a sense of respect and honor for all those who have sacrificed in the service of this great country.

God Bless our Troops and may God Bless America!
